Farmoz staff donned their running gear to raise funds for prostate cancer research at the Sydney Running Festival recently.
Kristel Burgemeister and Claire Arney from Farmoz head office in St Leonards were among more than 32,000 entrants in the festival which raised in excess of $1.6 million for a range of charities.
In an excellent effort, Kristel and Claire ran the 21.1 kilometre half-marathon in just on two hours and donated the $740 they raised to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Farmoz is a major sponsor of the PCFA, supporting its work in research, advocacy and awareness of prostate cancer, particularly among men in rural areas.
Kristel and Claire sought the financial support of fellow Farmoz staff, friends and family for their half-marathon run, following three months of training.
The course took them from Milsons Point across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and west to Haberfield before returning to cross the finish line at the Sydney Opera House.
After a speedy recovery, the duo is thinking about which half-marathon to take part in next.
